Preferences

Personalise how your workspace looks, behaves, and supports your day-to-day workflow.

Preferences allow you to adjust how Compound Direct is displayed and used in your workspace. These settings can help improve readability, support easier navigation, streamline printing behaviour, and manage personal security options.

Printing preferences

Printing Preferences allow you to configure printer preferences, auto-print settings, and label offset settings in Compound Direct.


  1. On the top-right side of your workspace, click your ā€˜User Name’.
  2. Select ā€˜settings Preferences’ from the drop-down menu.
  3. In the ā€˜Preferences’ sidebar, click ā€˜print Printing Preferences open_in_new’.
  4. Select the primary computer, computer, printer, paper type, and label variant from the drop-down menus for printer preferences.
    1. For troubleshooting, you may click ā€˜sync Reload Printers’ or ā€˜refresh Reset Preferences’.
  5. Select the auto-print on dispense, auto-print worksheet on dispense, auto-print pharmacy receipt on dispense, and auto-print on allocate from the drop-down menus for auto-print preferences.
  6. Enter the label horizontal offset and label vertical offset for label offset settings.
  7. Once done, your preferences will automatically be saved.
The printer preferences are stored within this browser only and won't sync with other browsers or devices.

Interface preferences

Interface Preferences allow you to adjust your workspace font size and choose whether hotkey hints are displayed on screen. These settings can help improve readability, support easier navigation, and make available keyboard shortcuts easier to learn while using Compound Direct.

Adjusting workspace font size

  1. On the top-right side of your workspace, click your ā€˜User Name’.
  2. Select ā€˜settings Preferences’ from the drop-down menu.
  3. In the ā€˜Preferences’ sidebar, select ā€˜Interface Preferences’.
  4. Choose your preferred text size from the drop-down menu.

Disabling hotkey hints

  1. On the top-right side of your workspace, click your ā€˜User Name’.
  2. Select ā€˜settings Preferences’ from the drop-down menu.
  3. In the ā€˜Preferences’ sidebar, select ā€˜web Interface Preferences’.
  4. Disable the ā€˜Show Hotkey Hints toggle_on’ switch.
    1. When disable, keyboard shortcut hint text will not be displayed in supported modals and controls.

Security preferences STANDARD

Security Preferences allow you to provide a PIN and enable workspace locking after inactivity or when manually locked in Compound Direct.


  1. On the top-right side of your workspace, click your ā€˜User Name’.
  2. Select ā€˜settings Preferences’ from the drop-down menu.
  3. In the ā€˜Preferences’ sidebar, select ā€˜lock Security Preferences’.
  4. Enable the ā€˜Enable Authorisation PIN toggle_on’ switch.
    1. Enter the four-digit authorisation PIN code.
    2. Once done, click ā€˜Save’.
  5. To change the pin, click ā€˜Change PIN’ and repeat the steps above.
The security preferences set is depending on the user currently logged in the workspace.
