Prescribers
Recording prescriber information in Compound Direct helps maintain a complete and reliable record of care. While adding a prescriber before dispensing a script is not mandatory, it is strongly encouraged to ensure accurate tracking of scripts, patients, and prescribing history within your workspace.
This guide will help you to:
- Create and maintain complete prescriber records, including identification details and supporting documents.
- Quickly find prescribers and review their associated scripts and patients.
- Ensure accurate linking of prescribers to drafts and dispensed records for improved traceability.
Now that you understand the purpose and benefits of managing prescriber records, follow the steps below to create, update, and navigate prescriber information within your workspace.
Finding prescribers
- Go to the âPrescribersâ page.
- A list of prescribers is displayed, including under their Name, Email, Phone, Prescriber Number, and Prescriber Type.
- To find the desired prescriber, you may either:
- Find the prescriber directly from the current shown list.
- Begin typing the prescriber's
name/email/phone/prescriber numberinto the search search bar. - Click on âMore Filtersâ button.
- Click the âArchival Statusâ drop-down menu.
- Tick the âcheck_box Show Archivedâ.
- Tick the âcheck_box Archived Onlyâ.
- Click the âPrescriber Typeâ drop-down menu.
- Select a
prescriber type. - Click âShow More...â to view all available prescriber types.
- Select a
- Click the âArchival Statusâ drop-down menu.
- Click on the âsort Sort Byâ button, you may either:
- Select radio_button_checked Date Created (newest / oldest first).
- Select radio_button_checked Date Modified (newest / oldest first).
- Select radio_button_checked Doctor Name (A-Z / Z-A).
- Click on the desired âPrescriber's Nameâ when found to view.
Adding prescribers

Go to the âPrescribersâ page.

Click on the âCreate Prescriberâ button.

Enter the prescriber information:
first name,last name,email address,phone number,fax number, andmobile number.-
To add multiple mobile / phone / fax numbers, place a commma between each number set.

Enter the prescriberâs
street address,suburb,state, andpostcode. -
Enter the
prescriber identifier; this may include the AHPRA registration number or any other identifier that is relevant in your country.-
If you enter the same prescriber identifier twice, the system will alert you showing duplicate prescribers.

Select the
prescriber typefrom the drop-down menu.- Click âShow More...â to view all available prescriber types.

Enter the prescriber
qualificationsandpractice name. -
Leave any important notes for the prescriber.
- Select the
note importancefrom the drop-down menu. - Enter the
notein the space provided. - You can height resize the note field by height by dragging the bottom-right corner.
- Select the

Click on the âCreateâ button to add the new prescriber.

Once created, you may upload any relevant files to the prescriber.

Bulk importing prescribers
- Go to the âPrescribersâ page.
- Click on the âMore Actions keyboard_arrow_downâ drop-down menu.
- Click on the âImport Prescribers (.csv)â button.
- You will be redirected to the âImport Prescribersâ page.
- You can download a sample template by clicking âDownload example file (.csv)â to use as a guide when entering customer details.
- In the spreadsheet, enter the prescriber details, including
first name,last name,phone,fax number,email,prescriber type,prescriber ID,practice name,qualifications,address,suburb,postcode,state, andprescriber note. - Once your CSV file is ready, click the âUploadâ field to begin the import process, then choose the CSV file from your device.
- Once ready, click on the âImport Prescribersâ button.
Editing prescribers

Go to the âPrescribersâ page.

Find the prescriber to edit in the list or directly by typing the
prescriber's name/email/phone/prescriber numberinto the search search bar. -
Select the desired prescriber.

Edit the prescriber information:
first name,last name,email address,phone number,fax number, andmobile number. -
Edit the prescriberâs
street address,suburb,state, andpostcode. -
Edit the

Once done with the changes, click on the âSaveâ button.
Finding prescriber scripts and patients
- Go to the âPrescribersâ page.
- Click on the desired prescriber's name when found to view.
- Click on either ârestore View Scriptsâ or âperson View Patientsâ.
- ârestore View Scriptsâ displays a searchable list of all dispensed scripts prescribed by the selected prescriber.
- âperson View Patientsâ displays a searchable list of all patients that has scripts prescribed by the selected prescriber.
- Click on the desired script or patient record to view.
Merging prescribers
- Go to the âPrescribersâ page.
- Click on the desired prescriber's name when found to view.
- On the âPrescriberâ record, click the âMore Actions keyboard_arrow_downâ drop-down menu.
- Select the âMerge from other Prescriberâ button.
- On the âMerge Prescribersâ modal, you may either:
- Directly select a prescriber from the current shown list and confirm.
- Search for a prescriber by
name,email/phone, orprescriber noto view similar records.-
Different prescribers appear as options, including their Name,Email/Phone, Prescriber No, and Created At details.

Tick the check_box checkbox to select a âPrescriberâ.

Click on the âConfirmâ button.

This will delete and merge all data from the ticked record into the currently viewed prescriber record.

Archiving prescribers

Go to the âPrescribersâ page.

Select the âPrescriberâ you want to archive.

On the âPrescriberâ record, click the âMore Actions keyboard_arrow_downâ drop-down menu.

Select the âArchiveâ button.

To unarchive a record, click the âMore Actions keyboard_arrow_downâ drop-down menu. Click on the âUnarchiveâ button.

A timestamp will appear at the top of the page indicating the date and time the record was archived, as well as the user who archived it.
To archive multiple prescribers:
- On the âPrescribersâ page, select the prescriber record(s) you want to archive by ticking the check_box checkbox beside each record.
- Click on the âMore actions keyboard_arrow_downâ drop-down menu.
- Select the âArchive Prescribersâ button.
- Click on the âArchiveâ button.
Exporting prescribers
- Go to the âPrescribersâ page.
- On the âPrescribersâ page, select the prescriber record(s) you want to export by ticking the check_box checkbox beside each record.
- Click on the âMore actions keyboard_arrow_downâ button.
- Select the âExport Recordsâ button.
- On the âExport Recordsâ modal, select the information you would like to include in your export.
- To export desired records, you may either:
- Click the âExportâ button.
- Click the âExport as Excel (.xlsx)â button.
- Click the âExport as CSV (.csv)â button.
- Click on the âExport Templatesâ and â+ New Export Templateâ to customise and save a template.
