How to scan a batch

1. Once a batch has been chosen for use, it must be confirmed by scanning the valid ingredient barcode. This can be done by:
   1. Scanning the barcode with a connected barcode scanner without clicking anything. Or
   2. Clicking on the ‘Scan Barcode’ button to open up the camera on the device to scan the ingredient. This will automatically be displayed on mobile / tablet devices. Or
   3. Clicking on ‘Enter lot number’ and typing in the batch number or scanning the barcode with a barcode scanner.
      • Only one batch can be confirmed at once hence, if another batch is selected and confirmed the previous batch must be reconfirmed. Confirmations only last 5 minutes and must be reconfirmed if this time lapses.
2. Valid ingredient barcodes include:
   1. Labels created with your Compound Direct workspace in ‘Balances, printers & labeling’ settings.
   2. Specific company ingredient labels currently including:
      1. Medisca ingredient barcode at the front.
3. Once the correct batch has been selected and scanned (matched), the ingredient can be weighed and recorded on the system.
